Family, students remember Katelyn Conrad

Katelyn Conrad, 21, died while rappelling near the Salt River in the Tonto National Forest Saturday. Conrad, a senior, was president of the Biomedical Engineering Society and a member of the Arizona Outdoors Club. Conrad’s family and friends held a candlelight vigil on “A” Mountain Monday to honor her life.

Hundreds of citizens, city officials and various organizations marched through downtown Phoenix Monday morning in honor of Martin Luther King Day. The event also included a festival after the march, where people enjoyed different vendors, music and activities.
