YouTube Sensation: Making A Career Out Of Pranking

When he’s not studying film and directing at Mesa Community College, Dawson Gurley is a professional prankster. He is planning on transferring to ASU next fall, but in the meantime, he frequently visits the campus to film footage for his YouTube channel, BigDawsTV. With over 28,000 subscribers, he entertains his audience by creating prank videos ranging from “Awkwardly Staring at Strangers”, “Falling in Public”, to Messing with ASU Sun Devils. The weirdest reaction he’s ever encountered happened when his friend was greeted with a fist to the face while in the middle of pranking someone for a video. His channel has over 2,000,000 views and counting, and Gurley says he is looking forward to seeing where his videos will take him. Reach the producer at ltnguy14@asu.edu or via Twitter @luu_t_nguyen
