A stack of cards from calls that Biloxi police dispatchers logged during and after Hurricane Katrina on Aug. 29, 2005. The intensity of the storm meant that dispatchers could not send help to those that called 911. Dispatchers logged the calls on cards, noting addresses and the number of adults and children at each location, so they could rescue people or recover their bodies when the water subsided.
