Sun Devil Fitness downtown gets revamped

The Sun Devil Fitness Complex in downtown Phoenix has introduced new visual updates to enhance ASU's visual presence.

Chad Ellsworth, assistant director of campus recreation, said the new graphical enhancements at Sun Devil Fitness Complex are similar to what other ASU facilities are doing.

"The new art not only convey the ASU brand, but also ASU spirit and pride."

He said the push to implement these visuals was influenced by students.

"Our students wanted their SDFC to be consistent visually with the pride they feel for ASU, and their affinity to the university," he said. "Students were actively engaged in selecting the images as well as the placement of the images throughout and they are responding positively regarding the new enhancements."

Ellsworth said he wants students to know that their SDFC is a great place to hang out, work out and to play.

"We know that, whether in the form of competition and play, or through self-directed activities like running and swimming, that physical activity is an important element of overall wellness," he said. "It helps students manage stress, enhances their physical fitness and gives them a greater sense of overall well-being."
