Breaking: Two pedestrians injured in alleged hit-and-run, westbound University Drive closed

Victims were transported to the hospital in serious condition, according to Tempe Police Department

Two pedestrians were hit by a truck on the evening of March 16 at the intersection of University Drive and Dorsey Lane, leading to the closure of westbound University.

The driver of the truck allegedly fled the scene but was later found and detained, according to a statement from the Tempe Police Department.

The two victims were alert but were transported to the hospital in serious condition, the statement said.

Tempe PD was unable to identify the suspect or victims as University students.
