BREAKING: Fire breaks out at storage facility near former Devil's Advocate, University Drive closes

Tempe Fire Department responded to a fire near Tempe campus Wednesday night

First responders on University Drive as a nearby storage unit is on fire on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, in Tempe. 


A fire broke out at a storage unit close to the former Devil's Advocate Sports Bar & Grill on University Drive on the evening of Feb. 26. It is now being contained and extinguished, according to a statement from the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department.

Tempe, Mesa and Scottsdale Fire Departments responded to the fire, the statement said. No injuries were reported.

University Drive at Rural Road and Dorsey Lane are closed and traffic is being handled by the Tempe Police Department, according to a Tempe Police Department statement. 

"The cause remains undetermined and is now under investigation by Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Departments fire investigators," the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department said.
