The Sun Devils' first year in the new-look Big 12 went as great as anyone could imagine. As the page turns to 2025, a new dawn rises for ASU football. Expectations are higher, and a repeat trip to the playoffs is in the picture, but they must run through another gauntlet of a conference schedule to get there.

Sep. 20 / at Baylor (8-5 in 2024)

After two straight losing seasons, Baylor turned things around in 2024. Redshirt freshman running back Bryson Washington was a significant reason for their success, rushing for over 1,000 yards last year.

Sep. 27 / vs TCU (9-4 in 2024

Junior quarterback Josh Hoover finished seventh in passing yards with 3,949 last season, helping the Horned Frogs win six of their final seven games. They also possess the Big 12's top 2025 recruiting class.

Oct. 11 / at Utah (5-7 in 2024)

The injuries to senior quarterback Cam Rising have haunted the Utes for the last two seasons. Reports surrounding his potential departure only continue to dim the fire of a program that was in the Rose Bowl a short time ago.

Oct. 18 / vs Texas Tech (8-5 in 2024)

The Red Raiders have been treading mediocrity for a while, but this incoming roster has a lot of upside. Senior quarterback Behren Morton led them to two bowl games and finished 16th in passing yards and touchdowns thrown this past season. Texas Tech did lose a lot of production in the transfer portal, but they more than made up for it with the No. 3 transfer class in the country (No. 1 in the Big 12).

Oct. 25 / vs Houston (4-8 in 2024)

In their two years in the Big 12, the Cougars have struggled to find their footing, finishing 4-8 in both seasons.

Nov. 1 / at Iowa State (11-3 in 2024)

Arguably, the most intriguing game on the schedule is in Ames, Iowa. The winner of this Big 12 Championship game rematch could find themselves fighting for the title again this season.

Nov. 15 / vs West Virginia (6-7 in 2024

The Mountaineers fired their head coach, Neal Brown, in early December before hiring Rich Rodriguez.  During his tenure in the mid-2000s, Rodriguez led West Virginia to multiple 11-win seasons and a Fiesta Bowl.

Nov. 22 / at Colorado (9-4 in 2024)

The Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders days are over in Boulder, Colorado as the potential first and second pick look to the NFL. Replacing them is a tough job, unless you have Deion Sanders as your head coach, and he did just that. The Buffaloes brought in the No. 2 overall recruiting class in the Big 12.

Nov. 28/29 / vs Arizona (4-8 in 2024)

The Territorial Cup Trophy is in Tempe for the first time since 2021. The Wildcats sit near the bottom of the Big 12 overall recruiting rankings and have lost 30 players to the transfer portal, tied for second most in the country.
