Devil's Advocate Sports Grill posted on its Instagram that it will close on Dec. 28. After 15 years of serving the Tempe community, the restaurant is selling its long-term lease back to the property owners.
Devil's Advocate will stop operations to accommodate Aspirant Development, a Scottsdale-based division of Empire Group, and its new project. The company plans to demolish the sports grill and storage unit next door to construct new luxury apartments intended for high-paying residents.
Jarred Stetser, the owner of the sports grill and ASU '04 alumnus, had no plans to sell the establishment until the lease ended in September 2029.
