Kylie Saba:
I'm Kylie Saba, editor and producer of State Press Play and this is the Crow-versation. On October 25 Michael Crow met with the State Press and discussed campus security, the new partnership with the Department of Defense and McCain Institute, and much, much more. I'm here with River Graziano. Graziano State Press, SciTech editor, to discuss the Michael Crow meeting and more in depth. Hi River.
River Graziano:
Hi Kylie. Thanks for having me, of course.
Kylie Saba:
So getting right into it on with the election day just passing us and everything that's recently happened on campus. How do you think the balance between supporting free speech and maintaining order on campus is,
River Graziano:
I think it's a good balance. There have been many expressions that I've personally seen around campus post-election, mostly just personal things that people are wearing. But I believe, yeah, things have been very orderly. There haven't been any protests, and I have seen campus security around, but from what I understand, there have not been any issues.
Kylie Saba:
I love to hear that honestly. I mean, like I want them to wear their memorabilia, but I'm really happy that nothing violent has happened on campus, because honestly, I was scared, I was worried we were going to have some violence or protest, so I'm kind of happy to see that we're not so, right.
River Graziano:
Yeah, no, they were definitely prepared for a lot of potential things to happen. So the fact that nothing did is I'm really grateful
