The following cartoons are opinionated and satirical. The views presented in this series are the artist's and do not imply any endorsement from The State Press or its editors.

"America's new MCU (Men in Control, Unfortunately)"

Tesla CEO Elon Musk helped garner support for President-elect Donald Trump ahead of Election Day. While Captain America and Iron Man, characters in the Marvel Universe, work to save New York City and the world from bad guys in the Avengers franchise, Trump and Musk may have a different plan come January.

"The Department of the WWE (Wild & Wack Education)"

Trump nominated former WWE CEO Linda McMahon to head the Department of Education on Nov. 19, 2024. If someone wants to stop Trump from dissolving the department all together, they must battle him in the ring. What will the winner get you might ask? Power over the next generation of Americans ... but more importantly A CHAMPIONSHIP BELT!

"We need someone who 'cares a whole awful lot.'"

The Lorax and Aloysius O'Hare, characters in Dr. Seuss's "The Lorax," share a plethora of characteristics with the current president-elect. Besides the orange tint to Trump's skin and his notable hair, he also prides himself on being a business man.

"Lock her up ... so I can vote for the felon."

Chants of "lock her up" and "crooked Hillary" could be heard at Trump's rallies during the 2016 presidential election. Many of his supporters "backed the blue" and believed in the duty of law enforcement. Flash-forward to the 2024 election, the same people that chanted against crimes, donned "I'm voting for the felon" t-shirts and attire with Trump's mugshot.

"Trump's 'Not Like Us.'"

Rapper and musician Kendrick Lamar released his song "Not Like Us" in May 2024. The song accused musical artist Drake for being an alleged sex offender. The cover of the album featured Drake's house with icons from the sex offender registry. Trump, along with some of his current cabinet nominations, have faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct.

"Voting for survival vs. voting for possible empty promises."

Many supporters of Trump voted for him in hopes of lower gas prices and cheaper groceries, praising his plan for economic success. In stark contrast, supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris voted for her in hopes of federally protecting reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy.

"Whale heads and bear cubs and brain worms, oh my!"

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump's current nomination to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, is a man of many stories. In a video posted by RFK on X, he detailed a story of how he and his friends staged a crime scene involving a dead bear and a bicycle in Central Park. RFK's daughter, Kathleen Kennedy, shared a story in a 2012 interview with Town and Country magazine, about how RFK cut off a dead whale's head and then drove with it on the top of their family minivan for five hours. RFK also disclosed that a dead parasite was found in his brain in 2012.

"Fox News = Trump's employee pool."

Trump has nominated at least two Fox News personalities to his cabinet so far. He nominated commentator Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense and former Arkansas Gov. and Fox News host Mike Huckabee as his U.S. ambassador to Israel.

"Trump Pump!"

Based on a series of rhyming cartoons done by former State Press illustrators from 2017, the "Trump pump" refers to the alleged lower gas prices and the "pumped Trump" refers to his excitement after winning the 2024 election.

"Get ready for the 2024 draft picks!"

The NFL Draft bestows each player who is chosen with a team hat. Trump's classic red MAGA hats will now sit atop the heads of his cabinet nominations. And I, for one, will be watching this interesting season of American politics every week.

"Arizona and Nevada aren't special anymore."

All eyes were on Arizona leading up to Election Day. Politicians and celebrities, including both presidential candidates, visited Arizona and ASU's campuses to rally student voters. However, as votes were tallied and results came in on Nov. 5, Arizona fell away from the limelight as a crucial swing state. Nevada and Arizona were among the final states The Associated Press called in the 2024 election

States like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Georgia had more pull and influence on the 2024 election, despite the hype of Arizona prior to Election Day.

"But who should we hire?"

After The Associated Press confirmed Trump's win in the 2024 presidential election, many people took to social media to share their thoughts on the candidates resumes. Though Trump has served as the president before, many were quick to notice that Harris has more political experience and has served in every branch of the U.S. government, in comparison to Trump who worked most of his life as a businessman and reality tv star.
