ASU head coach Kenny Dillingham announced that redshirt sophomore Raleek Brown won't play again this season and will be medically redshirted due to a hamstring injury.
"Raleek is out still with his hamstring," Dillingham said on Tuesday. "For that reason, we're going to medically redshirt him this year. So he's going to be out for the season. No point to bring him back for two to three games when we could use a medical and get him 100% healthy."
Brown has only appeared in two games this season for the Sun Devils and achieved 42 yards on only nine carries. Since Brown has only appeared in two games this season, he can redshirt and gain another year of eligibility. College football players are allowed to appear in up to four games before redshirting.
Brown, who transferred from USC this offseason, is a product of Mater Dei High School and was rated the third-best running back in the nation in the 2022 recruiting class. In his first season at USC, he appeared in all 14 games putting up 402 yards from scrimmage.

Rated as the 12th best running back in the transfer portal, Brown hoped that he'd gain more playing time in a maroon and gold uniform, but now will have to wait until next season to be at full strength.
With Brown out, the Sun Devils will continue to rely on senior running back Cam Skattebo who has half of the team's 300 total carriers for the year. To back him up, Dillingham looks to tap into the remaining depth on the roster by turning his attention to sophomore running back Kyson Brown.
Kyson Brown has touched the ball 19 times this year for 80 yards on the ground, 96 receiving and one touchdown. His season highlight was taking a 68-yard screen pass to the house, against Wyoming.
