BREAKING: Motorcycle collision closes off Rural Road intersection

The motorcycle driver sustained life-threatening injuries

A vehicle crash involving a motorcycle closed off the intersection at Rural Road and Lemon Street Monday night. 

A motorcycle was driving northbound on Rural Road when it collided with a car making a left hand turn, according to an email statement from the Tempe Police Department.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, the statement said. 

The driver of the car was cited with ARS 28-754: a citation stating a car cannot turn into the intersection without proper position, movement of reasonable safety and an appropriate signal.

The Tempe Police Department stated there is no more information available at this time.
