ASU football was ranked No. 24 in the country by both the Associated Press and the Coaches Poll Sunday after upsetting Michigan State on Saturday.

ASU's hard-fought victory over the No. 18 Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing Saturday propelled the Sun Devils into the top 25. MSU fell out of Sunday's AP Top 25 as a result.

For the second straight year, the Sun Devils entered the rankings following a win over the Spartans. Last year, ASU defeated No. 15 MSU in a 16-13 upset in Tempe, earning a spot at No. 23.

The Sun Devils are one of six Pac-12 teams in this week's rankings. They join Utah, Oregon, Washington State, Washington and California after USC fell out from the No. 24 spot following its loss to BYU Saturday.

Pac-12 play begins Saturday for ASU when it takes on Colorado.

Colorado is 2-1 and averaging just over 36 points per game. On defense, ASU has allowed seven points per game, second best in the country.

A win would give ASU a 4-0 start, its best since 2016.
