Living in a dorm may seem like a barrier for students who enjoy cooking, but there are several quick recipes that require minimal supplies yet result in maximum flavor.

These mug meals are easy, fun and each take about five minutes to cook and serve. Whether you are eating alone or want to treat your friends to a delicious bite, grab a mug and try your hand at some microwaveable desserts. Cinnamon Rolls
Cinnamon rolls are sugary, buttery, flaky and are perfect for an indulgent breakfast or just a warm snack. For those with a sweet tooth who enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, test your cooking skills with this fun recipe.
Supplies:
- A microwaveable mug
- A microwave
- Nonstick cooking spray
Ingredients:
Ingredients for cinnamon roll:
- 9 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
- 3 tablespoons of milk
- 1 tablespoon of melted butter
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
Ingredients for glaze:
- 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of milk
Instructions:
Cinnamon roll:
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl
- Add milk (add more flour if mixture is too wet, add more milk if mixture is too dry)
- Sprinkle tabletop (or plate) with flour and place mixture onto it
- Roll and/or stretch dough out
- Brush melted butter over top of dough
- Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over melted butter
- Spray mug with nonstick spray
- Roll dough up and place in mug
- Microwave for one minute
- Allow two minutes to cool, top with glaze and then enjoy!
Glaze:
- Mix powdered sugar and milk

Nutella cake
For those craving something chocolatey, this Nutella cake will hit the spot. Plus, this recipe only requires four ingredients and you don't need that much cooking experience.
Supplies:
- A microwaveable mug
- A microwave
- Nonstick cooking spray
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup of Nutella
- 3 tablespoons of milk
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
Instructions:
- Spray mug with nonstick spray
- Combine all ingredients in mug
- Whisk with a fork until smooth (batter should be thick)
- Microwave for one minute
- To test if the dessert is fully cooked, insert a fork into the cake. Cook in increments of 30 additional seconds if fork has batter remnants. If the fork comes out clean, it does not require additional cooking time
- Allow cake to cool for two minutes and then enjoy!
