The first day back to school for the spring semester is the mark of a fresh start for many, but for some students in Hayden East and West residence halls, the day started with a cold shower.

Students returning to their dorms after winter break found they still did not have hot water, an issue that ASU says began in November.

In a statement that ASU issued on Monday, the University said it expected hot water to be restored by 5 p.m. that day, but another outage was scheduled for Tuesday between noon and 4 p.m. for continued work on installing new hot water heaters.

Students affected by the outage will be notified by the University of alternate shower locations while the repairs are taking place, according to the statement.

A spokesperson from ASU did not respond for request to comment by the release of this article. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
