Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University and the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy invited organizer and activist Shamell Bell for a lecture and dance workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, in downtown Phoenix. Her lecture and workshop entailed street dance and its role in activism and protests, particularly the Black Lives Matter movement.
