ASU football senior kicker Zane Gonzalez broke the NCAA record for career field goals on Saturday, hitting his 89th career field goal in the fourth quarter against UCLA.
Gonzalez is now 6th all-time in scoring with 458 career points and second all-time among kickers, trailing only Florida State's Dustin Hopkins — whose career field goal mark (88) was the previous record.
Gonzalez is 16-of-17 on field goals so far this season (.941). His record-breaking field goal gave the Sun Devils a 23-13 lead over the Bruins.
