The gymnastics Pac-12 tournament is split into two sessions, dividing the top four and the bottom four seeds. On Saturday afternoon, eight-seed ASU competed against seventh-seed Arizona, sixth-seed Stanford and fifth-seed Washington.

ASU lost. It scored 191.675 points, which was 4.400 points behind Stanford, the winning team, and 3.575 behind the third-place Huskies.

Senior Taylor Allex had the best day of any Sun Devil. She was the only ASU athlete to place in the top five in any event, but she did it in both vault and floor. She tied for second in both events, scoring a 9.850 in them both.

Stanford’s Elizabeth Price won both of those events, scoring a 9.900 on vault and a 9.875 on floor. She also won the all-around (39.475).

Senior Allie Salas and freshmen Heather Udowitch and Corinne Belkoff competed in the all-around for ASU. Udowitch got fourth with a 38.475 and Belkoff (37.800) and Salas (37.775) got sixth and seventh, respectively. These were the lowest scores of all competitors, but Arizona did not have an all-around competitor.

Udowitch’s highest score came on beam, where her 9.800 was second-best on ASU, trailing only junior Beka Conrad. ASU struggled on beam overall; three competitors scored below a 9.200 or lower. Allex’s 9.000 was the low-point of her day, her one flaw from her otherwise high scores.

Conrad competed on floor for just the second time all season. Despite earning a 9.70 from one judge, her total score was a 9.375. Salas scored a 9.200 on floor, a low score for the senior. She was unable to post the high numbers ASU has grown accustomed to seeing from her.

Freshman Katelyn Lentz also struggled on floor, scoring an 8.975. Additionally, she was the low score on bars, posting an even 9.000. ASU was fairly consistent on bars otherwise, with more scores ranging from 9.400 to 9.700 and senior Carissa Kraus leading with a 9.825.

Kraus performed well in the two events she competed in — she also scored a 9.650 on vault.

ASU finishes the season with only one win.
