Whether we're sitting in the traffic looking for a tune to match or creating a study session playlist, students are always looking for new music to add to their arsenal.

The editorial board has a few favorites we're obsessing over, and your new fav might be one of our picks.

As everyone in the newsroom knows, I love listening to ABBA. As my roommate so bluntly informed me, that legendary disco group "stole" its sound from Donna Summer. He put on his Donna Summer vinyl and the rest is history. At the same time, my obsession with rhythmic music grew and grew — I love songs like " Same" and anything off of Philip Glass' album "Glassworks." At the confluence of these two things in my life is this dance edit of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love." Enjoy.

If you're looking for a song to sing when your entire day makes you want to scream, this is the perfect song. When you're stuck in traffic and tired of yelling obscenities, put "Pound Song" on and see how quickly it takes to turn that frown upside down. Kevin Fowler never fails to put a smile on my face and make a bad day much more tolerable. If this semester is already stressing you out and making you mad, I'm sure you'll agree that you feel like "pound sign question mark star exclamation point percentage sign at symbol backslash squiggle thing."

On the days that it feels like nothing I say or do makes much of a difference, I jam out to "Read All About It" by Emeli Sande. As someone that is mostly shy, but also works with words, a song about speaking out is the perfect uplifting ballad. Plus her voice is as strong as the words she speaks.

Le Tigre's 2001 song "Much Finer" is my life. While lead singer Kathleen Hanna asks if "you want to stay in bed all day" and if "you remember feeling any other way," I can't help but emphatically nod my head in agreement. Things right now (first semester of senior year and trying to get my life together) aren't going as smoothly expected, but things are going to get so much finer. That's my sincere hope. Or maybe they won't, because Hanna did get Lyme Disease. So, I guess we'll see about things getting much finer.

When I'm trying to sit down and write an article in a busy newsroom, I turn on my favorite Bach suite and zone out the distractions around me. It's the only way I can focus on what I'm doing without being distracted by what I'm listening to, and they say classical music played for fetuses in utero have higher IQ's as adults. I like to think that applies to me as well, maybe one day I will turn into some kind of genius.

I mean, it's a fun song with a really nice hook. I like it a lot. It's catchy. Next time you're flirting with that way-out-of-your league guy or girl at the club, ask the DJ to throw this song on and let its vibes take both of you to the dance floor. Trust me, it'll work. Then again, what do I know? I'm a State Press employee locked in the newsroom. Send help plz!

I like to balance my calm, reserved disposition with a healthy dose of overly aggressive music. That's not to say you won't find me listening to Bon Iver, but I often find myself looking to get hyped. You know what's been getting me hyped? Upper Echelon by Travi$ Scott. It's got air horns. You can never have too many air horns.

Stefan Modrich, sports editor

I don't know how much I've entertained the thought of being obsessed with a song, because I don't view my musical taste as an intrusion upon my waking thoughts. Rather, it's complimentary sounds like "Living on the Sun" by YGTUT that I enjoy as I go about my day. It's edgy, yet with mature and sophisticated tone, a talented featured vocalist in Angel Mae and tasteful instrumentation. In other words, it brings out the best of what the rap genre has to offer, and I can't get enough of it.

Kelcie Grega, news editor

"Imaginary Places" by Busdriver has been stuck in my head, but I can't complain. As a fan of underground hip-hop, it really doesn't get any better than Busdriver. It's pretty sad this is the only track he's known for though. He's extremely underrated.

Ian Beck, assistant sports editor

My taste is music is abysmal. Right now the only thing I’m listening to obsessively is football podcasts because, in case you hadn’t heard, football is back baby!
