Wednesday's ASU football practice marked the first time the Sun Devils practiced outdoors at the Kajikawa Practice Fields this fall camp.
They had previously held each practice inside of the Verde Dickey Dome, with the exception of last Wednesday's scrimmage inside of Sun Devil Stadium and their outdoor practices at Camp Tontozona.
Practice Notes:
- The media availability Wednesday was restricted to team stretch and a short 11-on-11 segment featuring only the first team. It was a situational two-minute drill with 52 seconds left on the clock and one timeout remaining, with the offense down two points.
Here's how they lined up:
First-Team Offense
QB: Mike Bercovici
RB: Kalen Ballage
WR: D.J. Foster, De'Chavon Hayes and Devin Lucien
TE: Kody Kohl
LT: Evan Goodman
LG: Christian Westerman
C: Nick Kelly
RG: Vi Teofilo
RT: Billy McGehee
First-Team Defense
DL: Ami Latu, Demetrius Cherry and JoJo Wicker
"Will" linebacker: Christian Sam
"Devilbacker:" Antonio Longino
"Sam" linebacker: Salamo Fiso
"Spur" linebacker: James Johnson
Field corner: Kweishi Brown
Boundary corner: Lloyd Carrington
Bandit safety: Jordan Simone
Field safety: Armand Perry
Bercovici looked solid in the session, not trying to force things on completions to Kohl and Ballage. The offense drove down the field effectively, but failed to convert on the game-winning field goal as the defense got the block.
Head coach Todd Graham was active on the sideline, calling out the defense for their lack of urgency in what was supposed to be a game-ending situation.
- "PT42" jerseys: Redshirt senior safety Jordan Simone and redshirt sophomore safety James Johnson
- Redshirt junior wide receiver Tim White went through individual drills for the second consecutive day in a reduced black wrap. He was still wearing a green non-contact jersey.
