The Sun Devils jumped up to No. 14 in the polls after beating Stanford and getting the Cardinal monkey off their backs Saturday night. Here are The State Press' top 10 GIFs from the blowout win.
1. Foster spins free
D.J. Foster used a little creativity to evade the tackle and gain a few extra yards. He finished with over 150 all-purpose yards and one rushing touchdown.
2. Foster gets the Sun Devils on the board
On third down, Foster found the end zone to give ASU a 7-0 lead at the beginning of the second quarter.
3. Carrington blindsides Hogan
Kevin Hogan could have used a little peripheral vision to avoid the massive sack from Lloyd Carrington. Todd Graham said Carrington and the rest of the ASU defense played its most complete game of the season.
4. Strong doubles the lead
Mike Bercovici recorded his first and only touchdown of the evening when he found Strong late in the second quarter. Those two scores would be all the Sun Devils needed.
5. Special teams shine
ASU's special teams hasn't been a bright spot in recent memory, but the Sun Devils managed to down the ball at the one after the Bercovici punt.
6. Hood tips Hogan
With Hogan throwing from his own end zone, Jaxon Hood deflected his pass and ruined Stanford's drive on third down. ASU would capitalize with a field goal on the ensuing drive.
7. McCaffrey coughs it up
The Sun Devils again made a fantastic special teams play, forcing this fumble that would set up Zane Gonzalez' final field goal of the night.
8. Student section gets rowdy
According to Bill Kennedy, 9,109 ASU students sat in the student section Saturday, the biggest ever family weekend crowd. And that doesn't even include the students that sat with their families in other sections.
9. Brown denies Montgomery — again
Kweishi Brown recorded five pass break-ups, exactly a quarter of Kevin Hogan's 20 incompletions. Not to mention he was guarding one of the conference's premier receivers in Ty Montgomery.
10. Ring the victory bell
The Sun Devils held on to improve to 5-1 and 3-1 in the Pac-12 with the 26-10 victory over Stanford.
