There will be another Sun Devil competing in the PGA Tour when Scott Pinckney (2008-11) joins the tour next year.

Since going pro after gradating from ASU, Pinckney has spent time on the European and Challenge Tours and most recently has competed on the Web.com Tour. Pinckney played in the Web.com Tour Championship this week and finished tied for 14th shooting 4-under par.

Pinckney, originally from Orem, Utah, attended Boulder Creek High School in Anthem, Arizona, before coming to ASU in 2008. In his senior season at ASU, Pinckney competed in 13 tournaments and had a career high in top-10 finishes with five. He also shot a career low of 66 during that season’s Thunderbird Invitational.

His best finish of his collegiate career came during the season’s USC Collegiate Invitational where he placed second. He also finished second in the 2011 South Central-Colorado Regional, which helped the Sun Devils make their 18th NCAA Championship appearance.

Pinckney will be the eighth Sun Devil to competing in the PGA Tour next year, joining Phil Mickelson, Matt Jones, Pat Perez, Paul Casey, Billy Mayfair, Benjamin Alvarado and Chez Reavie.
