Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:
- A 29-year-old Tempe man was arrested Nov. 15 on the 4000 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of endangerment, according to a police report.
The man discharged his firearm, a stainless steel .357 Magnum revolver, into the wall of his apartment, police said.
The bullet traveled through the man’s wall into another apartment, flying through adjacent kitchen cabinets and ricocheting into the master bedroom bathroom, according to the report.
The apartment owner did not wake during the incident but did find the bullet the next morning, police reported.
She called police after discovering the damage, the report said.
The apartment owner said she feared for her safety, according to the report.
The man said he had consumed alcohol before coming home the night of the incident, police said.
The man said he was attempting to unload his firearm when it accidentally discharged. He said he attempted to knock on the apartment owner’s door but no one answered, police said.
He said he did not attempt to notify police.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held, according to the report.
- A 35-year-old Guadalupe man was arrested Nov. 15 on the 5000 block of East Calle Santos on suspicion of robbery and trafficking stolen property, according to a police report.
The man pushed a shopping cart containing Samsung Blu-ray players and Sony Sound Bars through a Garden Center checkout at Wal-Mart, the report said.
When the clerk scanned the items, the man told him he had a gun concealed beneath his sweatshirt, police reported.
The man told the clerk not to follow him and exited the Garden Center, according to the report.
The robbery was captured on surveillance video at the Wal-Mart on Oct. 22, the report said.
On Nov.4, the man robbed a Wendy’s on the 1800 block of West Elliot Road and demanded the store employee open the register, according to the report.
The man took $150 to $200 in cash from the register, the store’s cordless phone and the employee’s iPhone 4, the report said.
Police tracked the stolen phone to the man’s residence, according to the report.
Police created a photographic line-up of the man and he was positively identified as the man who robbed the Wal-Mart, according to the report.
The man admitted to the Wal-Mart robbery but said he was on drugs and had no recollection of ever having a gun or implying he had one, the report said.
The Wendy’s investigation is ongoing, police said.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked, according to the report.
