Stanford finished off a dominating performance by shutting out ASU in the second half to win 38-14, clinching its second straight Rose Bowl appearance.

The Cardinal (11-2, 7-2 Pac-12) put the game away on the first drive of the fourth quarter, marching 99 yards finished off with a 24-yard pass from junior quarterback Kevin Hogan to junor receiver Ty Montgomery, his second touchdown of the night.

The Sun Devils (10-3, 8-1 Pac-12) took the ball down the field on their opening drive of the second half but came out without points because freshman placekicker Zane Gonzalez missed a 31-yard field goal, his first miss since the teams' first meeting Sept. 21.

The Cardinal connected on a 30-yard field goal from senior placekicker Jordan Williamson on the next drive, extending the lead to 31-14.

The Sun Devils drove down the field on their next drive but were stopped twice within the Cardinal one-yard line, setting up the long touchdown drive for the Cardinal.

With the loss, the Sun Devils will most likely head to the Holiday Bowl.
