Devil Dish: Ortiz made for October

The show David Ortiz put on during the World Series made the entire series worth watching.

It is unbelievable to watch what that man did in the six-game stretch. Big Papi thrives in October. It is his time to shine ,and he does it well.

His hits came at some of the most clutch moments during the playoffs, but the show he put on during the World Series was second to none, and he definitely deserved to be MVP.

To reach base 19 out of 25 plate appearances is unheard of, but just watching Ortiz’s eyes when he walked up to the plate showed how determined he was.

At first I had my doubts of taking Napoli out of the game to have Ortiz play first in St. Louis.

Ortiz is getting older, and while he still dominates the plate, I thought DH might be where he should stay.

But Ortiz did what he had to and was locked into every pitch that came his way. Ortiz played like a true baseball all-star and continues to set incredibly high standards for players in the game today.
