The World Series begins Wednesday, and what could be more exciting than two powerhouse offenses coming together to battle it out?
Just look at game 6 for both the ALCS and NCLS: We saw Shane Victorino hit a grand slam in the 7th to basically win the series, and the Cardinals scoring nine runs in two innings against the Dodgers. Plus, let's not forget about David Ortiz’s grand slam in the 8th inning of Game 2. These offenses are unparalleled, especially when they get on a streak of hits.
The real joy about these teams, however, is that both are nine-inning teams. Just because they may be down by five runs going into the second half of the game doesn’t mean anything, because both are always only one swing of the bat away from starting a parade of runs.
As far as I can see, this World Series is going to be an offensive clinic that is going to be won at the plate. Both teams obviously have competent defensive squads and pitchers but the power, consistency and overwhelming threat from every player that comes to bat is going to be the real decider of the series.
