The Chicago Bulls’ dreams of making it to the NBA Finals are exactly that: dreams.
And they’re in for a rude awakening.
With Derrick Rose still inactive after over 80 games, it’s obvious that he is just teasing Bulls fans with a comeback.
He is not going to be back for the playoffs.
And even if he were to come back, it would be too little, too late. The Bulls are already having trouble with their defense.
Nobody is expecting a team with such a weak defense make it past the Miami Heat, when the Bulls let the New York Knicks score 111 points on them on April 11.
If the Bulls can’t defend Knicks center Chris Copeland in a cut-throat manner, how are they going to defend a Dwyane Wade or a LeBron James?
Don’t even get me started on offense. Carlos Boozer, who by all intents and purposes should be the one stepping up and taking some sort of lead on offense, had only one basket in the first quarter against the Knicks.
One basket.
While they may be able to scrape by the Brooklyn Nets in the first round, the Bulls can’t expect to get by any team takes itself seriously.
