Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
- A 24-year-old Tempe man was arrested early Saturday morning on the 500 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, according to a police report. The man took another man to the ground and started punching him, police reported.The man also bit the other man’s left forearm and left ear, causing heavy bleeding, according to the report. The man told police he thought the other man was making fun of him, police reported. Tempe Fire Department transported the victim to Scottsdale Osborn Hospital, according to the report.
Hospital medics said the other man would need plastic surgery to repair his ear, police reported.
The suspect was arrested, transported and booked at Tempe City Police Jail, according to the report.
- A 21-year-old Mesa woman was arrested early Sunday morning on the 400 block of South Mill Avenue for aggravated assault, according to a police report. The woman punched another woman outside School of Rock dance club, according to the report.The other woman, who works as a club promoter, was knocked back several feet into her co-workers, police reported.
After a male employee grabbed her, she jerked her head back and struck him in the jaw, but the man was not injured, according to the report. Staff employees detained the woman until Tempe Police arrived, police reported. The woman was handcuffed by an officer and told to sit on the curb, but after looking at him, she spat on his chest, according to the report.
The woman was arrested, transported and booked into Tempe City Jail where she was held to see a judge, police reported.
