Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

 

  • A 29-year-old Glendale man was arrested Tuesday at the 2100 block of East Conference Drive on suspicion of forgery and attempt to possess a narcotic drug, according to a police report.The man put a prescription order for 180 Oxycodone tablets under the name of “Jefferey Wilcox,” according to the report.

    The pharmacy contacted the doctor who had never seen a “Jefferey Wilcox,” according to the report.

    The police was called and they waited for the man to come back to pick up the prescription, according to the police report.

    The man arrived to the Apothecary Shops and fled when he saw the officers, police reported.

    The man fled to a nearby white Chevrolet TrailBlazer and asked the driver to leave, but the driver did not, according to the report.

    The man admitted to dropping off the prescription and he said he left because seeing the police made him nervous, according to the report.

    The man was asked if he gave a wrong name for the prescription and he shook his head and asked to see a lawyer, according to the report.

    The man was arrested, transported and booked into Tempe City Jail, police reported.

  • A 21-year-old Tempe man was arrested early Sunday morning on the 900 block of Lemon Street on suspicion of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.The police were contacted at the apartment for a noise complaint, according to the report.

    Officers smelled the odor of marijuana at the door, according to the report.

    When police asked the man if there was marijuana, the man admitted there was and he allowed police to enter the apartment, according to the report.

    The police officer asked the man if he could get the marijuana, according to the report.

    The man presented the police with 13 individually wrapped plastic bags of green, leafy substance, a metal grinder and a water bong, according to the police report.

    The man was arrested, transported and booked into Tempe City Jail, police reported.

  • A 36-year-old Tempe man was arrested Jan. 13 at Rural and Warner roads on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to a police report.The police arrived at the man’s single vehicle collision, according to the report.

    The man’s 5-year-old daughter was in a car seat in the backseat of the vehicle, police reported.

    He told the officer he crashed the car because he tried to avoid hitting a group of black kittens, according to the report.

    While talking, the man had slurred speech and was swaying while standing, according to the report.

    He admitted to taking 30 milligram of prescribed morphine, Xanax and Temazepam before driving, the police reported.

    The man was arrested, transported and booked into Tempe City Jail, according to the report.
