Glee opened its season with “We’ve Got the Beat” by the Go-Go’s and didn’t skip a beat from then on. This season brings new subplots that we should definitely keep up with once more episodes have aired. First, we catch a glimpse of Finn-drama which I’m sure will sound something like “blah blah blah I don’t know what to do with my life blahty blah blah feel bad for me blah.” On the other hand, Quinn is playing the “world is against me” rebel and hanging out with a new group at school called the Skanks. Rachel and Kurt are caught up in drama of their own when they find that they are shockingly underprepared for the life of a New York performing arts career.
Despite the drama, the musical numbers were superb as always. My personal favorite is a tie between Blaine’s singing “It’s Not Unusual” and the NYADA members singing “Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do.” What were your favorite parts?
But I have so many questions for you viewers! What do think the addition of Blaine will do to New Directions? With the addition of yet another strong singer, that means fewer opportunities for solos. Although I could personally care less, I think we all know from experience that Kurt, Rachel, and even Mercedes definitely feel threatened when solo opportunities are taken away. Also, do you guys think the NYADA performers are going to be regulars on the show? In my opinion, they are phenomenal and Kurt and Rachel just need to regain their self-confidence and assimilate into the group.
