A HABOOB HERE?
(In response to an Aug. 18 Facebook post about Thursday’s Haboob.)
“It’s only called a Haboob if you’re in the Middle East or are [jumping on the media bandwagon].”

Your eyes have landed upon the most interactive section of the paper — the letters to the editor section. This space is our reader’s forum to discuss whatever topics are pertinent to students.
There is that petty, old saying, “Don’t talk politics and religion at the dinner table.” But we would like to encourage you to talk about those “taboo” subjects. We aren’t at the dinner table, nor are we under your mother’s roof anymore.
In the spirit of finally being independent adults, completely disregard this adage.
Take a minute to think about issues that personally affect you. Don’t be afraid to voice your opinions. Examine your beliefs on tuition, taxes, transportation on campus and the economy. Tell us about them.
Besides, how awesome would it be to see your name in the newspaper?
All you have to do is drop us a line. The more you do it, the more you get published. The more you are published, the closer you are to being a recognized writer. And let’s face it; it’s pretty cool to have 70,000 students read your opinion.
The conversation is yours to dictate. E-mail us your thoughts and letters to letters.editor@asu.edu. Letters should be a maximum of 250 words, and the subject should read “Letter to the Editor.”
