School is back in session and suddenly your closet is looking smaller and smaller. We’ve only been in school a week and yet you’re rummaging through your laundry basket to find your go-to top and always-fit-me jeans. Well luckily for us, this just so happens to be right in time for one insane semi-annual designer sale.
My Sister’s Closet is one of the best places I’ve found in my shopping escapades to find great and hardly worn designer apparel and accessories. Yes, there are Louis Vuitton suitcases and Jimmy Choo platforms still out of budget for me, a girl who paid for her latte this morning in quarters (yes, true story), yet this week is the time to hit it hard.
Twice a year My Sister’s Closet has a blow out sale and each day the discount drops. So although you risk lesser inventory, you have the chance to get real designer pieces for 70 percent off already consignment price! Unfortunately, this blog is only going to catch the last days (but biggest discounts!) of the sale so: August 22-24 is 50 percent off August 25-26 is 70 percet off
Another incredible thing about My Sister’s Closet: you can sell items there. When your items sell, you can take home cold hard cash or get a higher percentage of return for store credit. I made a sufficient settlement for some old Tiffany’s pieces (Ex-boyfriend? Yes. Sweet revenge? Mildly put, yes.) So those Steve Madden strappy sandals that haven’t left your closet? Sell them and use that money towards new jeans for fall.
If this sale is too late notice, there are other places you can find deals year round you just have to be willing to look! For example Plato’s Closet features more moderately priced labels (Hollister, Forever21, American Eagle, etc.) at reduced prices. I’ve found great throw-back tanks there for $6. Another one of my go-to favorites is Last Chance (any girl who knows its secrets just awed). It’s the place where all those Nordstrom returns go and in my lucky adventures, Sam Edelman pumps (about $200) for $32. Another favorite of ASU is Buffalo Exchange since it’s located right off campus.
Happy shopping!
