The discussion board on Yelp.com for “Creative Things to Do with Waffles” was entertaining to say the least. Minus the…hmm…unique suggestions like “waffle origami,” I did get some great ideas of how to spice up typical frozen waffles with everyday ingredients.
Butter and maple syrup are always a classic topping, but when you’re in the mood for something fun and fresh, try out one of these four ideas.
If your roommate starts eyeing your breakfast, you might even need to exclaim the unforgettable tagline, “Leggo my Eggo!”
Remember the investment groceries I blogged about earlier this semester, peanut butter, jelly, caramel, Nutella, ice cream, and now waffles are all staple grocery items that will last for months without you having to worry about an expiration date. These options interchange well with fruit and yogurt, which will only last a week or so!
Take these options, mix and match, and start (or end) your day off right!
- PB + jelly, honey or Nutella
- Fruit and yogurt
- Ice cream and waffle sundae topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle
- Ice cream waffle sandwich (strawberry or coffee flavor ice cream sprinkled with chocolate chips)
