Arizona State junior swimmer Rebecca Ejdervik recorded the fastest time in the world so far this season in the 50 long meter breaststroke at the Canadian World Championship Trials in Victoria, British Columbia, which began on March 30.
Ejdervik swam the event in 31.06 seconds in a preliminary race, which was the fastest time recorded at the meet. The junior also swam in the 100 long course breaststroke event and placed first in the consolation finals.
Ejdervik was not the only Sun Devil to compete at the Canadian World Championships, as sophomores Cassie Morrice and Caroline Kuczynski also suited up.
Morrice finished seventh in both the 400 long course meter freestyle and in the 200 long course meter freestyle.
Kuczynski placed third in the 50 long course meter butterfly and placed fourth in the 100 long course meter butterfly.
Morrice and Kuczynski also competed in the meet independent of ASU as members of their club teams.
Former Sun Devils were also represented as school record-holder Jen Beckberger was at the meet and competed in both the 50 long course meter freestyle and the 50 long course meter backstroke where she finished sixth and fifteenth, respectively.
