Not all of us are born crafty, however, many of us do appreciate arts and crafts and would love to hone our skills to be able to make one craft in particular. Others of us who are crafty are always ready and willing to learn new crafts. However, as we all know, learning something we don’t know how to do particularly well can be difficult. This is where Jam comes in.

Jam is an art boutique and all-out-creative venue in Old Town Scottsdale. Jam hosts daily classes by some of the Phoenix area’s most creative and talented artists and teachers. The classes Jam conducts fall on the spectrum of all things crafty—from jewelry to calligraphy, to gardening to cooking, Jam does it all! The boutique also sells items from local crafters in the area. The items sold are most often jewelry, paintings, and other handmade items. The artists and teachers that host the handmade classes at Jam are also available for any sort of party or other social events you may have.

Although I haven’t been to Jam just yet, my plan is to go in the next few weeks. A schedule of their classes is located online at the bottom of their blog, a helpful aide for you to plan ahead for the classes you are interested in taking. Some of the classes for March include Acrylic Painting, Learning Upholstery, and Pilates Education.

It seems to me that Jam is coming to life at a good time for the Greater Phoenix area. At a time where buying handmade and supporting the local arts scene in downtown Phoenix and Tempe is becoming the thing to do, Old Town Scottsdale is now getting its own voice through Jam.

Jam is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Check out Jam in Old Town today!
