Off of 7th Street in Phoenix is a quaint coffee shop that is dedicated to using local products, and having a nice space where people can mingle, sip coffee, and play Scrabble together.
Urban Beans, located in midtown Phoenix, offers an array of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, along with locally made pastries and coffee drinks that are sure to settle anyone’s craving for caffeine.
When I first went to Urban Beans back in January, the first thing I noticed was the size of the room, which is downright large compared to most coffee shops in the downtown area. There is so much seating at UB, and I was immediately drawn to a window seat that let the sun shine in on me.
On this particular day, I decided on an egg, cheese, and sausage sandwich (although they did mess up my order and I got corn beef instead, which was still good). I also got a salad with my sandwich (bit of strange mixture, but good nonetheless), and paired it all with a non-fat latte, which came in a massive mug, perfect for sipping away. While there I was also very tempted to try one of their delicious looking scones, and also a pastry or two. Next time I go back, I will definitely have to try out their iced coffee and scones.
UB also hosts monthly Scrabble nights, poetry slams, and other get-togethers that encourage community inside this sweet little coffee shop. They also have a large patio, which is the perfect spot for working on homework during this last semi-cool month we have in the area. They are also open late, which is pretty rare for a coffee shop in Phoenix!
UB is located at 3508 N. 7th Street Suite 100, and is open Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.-10 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
