I have had enough.

I am sick and tired of hearing about Boise State and Texas Christian. So much that I found myself rooting for Oregon and Auburn on Saturday.

I just cannot stand the thought of TCU in the National Championship game. I’ll give the Horned Frogs some credit. They have won the games they should and they are ultimately a talented team.

Not, however, a National Championship team.

TCU beat Oregon State when it was ranked No. 24. Well, OSU lost to lowly Washington State on Saturday and are now 4-5 overall.

TCU beat Utah when the Utes were ranked No. 5. Utah was crushed 28-3 by a 4-5 Notre Dame team Saturday and hadn’t exactly played any noteworthy opponents.

And as for Boise State, all it can claim are wins over previously mentioned OSU and Virginia Tech, a decent team playing in a mediocre conference.

The Broncos have talent too, but give them a Pac-10 or SEC schedule and their final record would likely look quite different.

I just don’t buy these teams, not yet. As soon as they start beating top-tier teams, I’ll be happy to acknowledge them. But for now, I simply don’t want to see a title game rout of an unworthy competitor.
