Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:

  • A 38-year-old Phoenix man was arrested early Friday morning at South Mill Avenue and West Baseline Road on suspicion of possession of narcotic drugs, police reported.

    The man was stopped because he had a suspended license plate, according to a police report.

    In a vehicle search, police found a small plastic bag containing a powder substance believed to be cocaine, police reported.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail and booked on one count of possession of narcotic drugs, according to a report.

  • A 33-year-old Phoenix man was arrested late Thursday night on the 600 block of East University Drive on suspicion of possession of marijuana, police reported.

    The man was stopped in his vehicle after he was seen ignoring flashing red warning lights for a light rail crossing, according to a police report.

    The vehicle was almost struck by the passing light rail, police reported.

    A search of the man’s vehicle found a usable amount of marijuana in the map pocket of the front passenger door, according to a report.

    The odor of marijuana was reportedly emanating from the vehicle, police reported.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail and booked on one count of possession of marijuana, according to a report.

  • A 42-year-old Tempe man was arrested Thursday morning on the 2100 block of East Lemon Street on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    The man was contacted after it was revealed that he had an outstanding Maricopa County Superior Court warrant for his arrest, according to a police report.

    A search of the man revealed a battery-operated scale with a white powder residue believed to be methamphetamine, police reported.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked on one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and held on the warrant, according to a report.

  • A 20-year-old Buckeye man was arrested early Thursday morning at South Rural Road and East University Drive on suspicion of possession of marijuana, police reported.

    The man was contacted at a vehicle stop and found to be in possession of a case containing a usable amount of marijuana and a pipe, according to a police report.

    He was transported to Tempe City Jail and booked on one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.

  • A 21-year-old Mesa man was arrested Wednesday night on the 2700 block of West Southern Avenue on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    He was stopped in his vehicle after a records check revealed his registration was “not valid for highway use,” according to a police report.

    Upon contact, officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the car and the man’s clothing, police reported.

    A search found a bag containing marijuana inside the trunk, according to a report.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail and booked on one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.
