Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • A 22-year-old Tempe woman was arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of assault and possession of narcotics, police reported.

    The location where the woman was arrested was not disclosed, according to a police report.

    The woman admitted to striking her boyfriend in the forehead with a shoe and scratching his back, police reported.

    An estimated $4,000 in damage was also done to the victim’s BMW, which the woman reportedly keyed in several places, police reported.

    During a search, half a tablet of the prescription drug Xanax and one bottle of codeine pills were found in her purse. The woman admitted the drugs had not been prescribed and that she took them for anxiety reasons, according to the report.

    She was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of assault, one count of criminal damage, one count of possession of narcotics and one count of possession of dangerous drugs, according to the report.

  • A 19-year-old Tempe man was arrested Saturday night near South Rural Road and South Lakeshore Drive on suspicion of burglary and criminal damage, police reported.

    The man admitted he had cracked a bus window after throwing a full can of beer at the bus, police reported.

    He then used a rock to break into a parked vehicle and steal a purse inside. The rock bounced off the car and on to another, damaging both vehicles, according to a police report.

    Police found the purse in the man’s right front pocket, police reported.

    The man had a blood-alcohol level of .119, according to the report.

    A records check also indicated he had an outstanding Department of Public Safety warrant, police reported.

    He was transported to Tempe City Jail on two counts of criminal damage, one count of burglary from vehicle, one count of minor in consumption and one count of failure to show identification, according to the report.

ASU Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • About one-eighth of a gram of marijuana was recovered early Friday morning from the ground outside Wells Fargo Arena on the Tempe campus, police reported.

    The marijuana was found on the ground adjacent to five male students — four 18-year-olds and one 19-year-old, according to a police report.

    Police were unable to determine whom the marijuana belonged to, police reported.

    The marijuana was impounded at the ASU Police station for destruction, according to the report.

    Two male students are suspected of committing criminal damage after they reportedly removed two photographs from a female student’s door in the Hayden South residence hall on the Tempe campus, according to a police report.

    The photographs were found torn in two. The total estimated loss is $1, police reported.
