Like many baseball fans, I love to hate the Yankees.

And like those who hate the Yankees, I grabbed a Rally Monkey and rooted for the Angels in the ALCS.

But maybe having the Bronx Bombers in the World Series isn’t so bad.

The last time New York made the Fall Classic was in 2003, which is when fans got to witness the emergence of then-Marlins pitcher Josh Beckett into a superstar when he threw a complete game shutout in Game 6 to clinch the championship for Florida.

But since then, every World Series has been a complete dud.

In 2004, the Red Sox broke the “Curse of the Bambino,” but they also swept the Cardinals in a snoozer. In 2005, the White Sox swept the Astros. The Cardinals defeated the Tigers in five games in 2006, and then the Red Sox broke out the broomsticks again in 2007 against the Rockies.

Last season, everyone suddenly jumped on the Rays’ bandwagon, only to watch them get beat by the Phillies in five games.

Simply put, it’s been boring.

So as much as it pains me to say it, the Yankees create a buzz, and more people will certainly be watching the Series this season.

And I’d honestly rather watch the Pinstripes add another World Series trophy to the case if an entertaining Series comes with it.
