Is it too early for dynasty talk?

The Phoenix Mercury has won two titles in the last three years, and yet no one seems to notice.

OK, so technically it’s not quite a dynasty. The team will have to win at least one or two more championships, but the pieces are there.

A star is returning from the Outback and the league MVP, as cliché as it may sound, refuses to lose.

Recap: 2009 League MVP Diana Taurasi, 2008 scoring leader Cappie Pondexter, and the Aussie Penny Taylor.

And you thought the Celtics had the big three.

Taurasi is born a leader. Coaches left, players left and yet she brought the championship to Phoenix yet again.

Only one other professional team in Arizona has won two championships, but now it has disappeared.

The Arizona Rattlers won the Arena Football League title in 1994 and 1997, beating current Arizona sports icon Kurt Warner in ’97.

The only difference is that the Rattlers never had a problem with attendance while they were winning championships.

So the stereotypes are present in the WNBA.

There is little dunking and little high-flying action, but to be honest they are the only team here that has the right to brag.
