ASU police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • A car belonging to a 19-year-old male ASU student was stolen Wednesday afternoon from the Tempe campus.

    The white 1995 Acura Integra was stolen from the parking lot of Packard Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, according to a police report.

    The total estimated value of the vehicle is $4,000, according to the report. Police reported no suspects, leads or witnesses.

  • An unknown suspect or suspects stole the cell phone of a 35-year-old female ASU student on Thursday at the Art Building, police reported.

    The student had left her backpack, which contained the cell phone, unattended, and it was turned in to the front desk by unknown persons, according to the police report. When the female student claimed her backpack at the front desk, she found her cell phone had been removed, according to the report.

    Police reported no investigative leads, suspects or witnesses.

Tempe police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • A 36-year-old Scottsdale woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia on the 900 block of East Broadway Road on Wednesday afternoon, police reported.

    The woman was detained by security guards after she attempted to leave the store she was in with display items, according to the report. A search of her purse found two syringes and a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamines, police reported.

    The woman was booked into Tempe City Jail and released pending charges.

  • A 23-year-old Mesa man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at the Burlington Coat Factory at 5000 S. Mill Ave. late Wednesday night, according to a police report. Security guards said they saw the man switching tags on a pair of shorts, and stopped him when he attempted to pay for the shorts, according to the report.

    The man was booked into Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.
