Tempe police reported the following incidents Sunday:

  • An 18-year-old female ASU student was arrested Friday on suspicion of possessing marijuana, dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    The woman was arrested after a family fight on the 100 block of East Spence Avenue. A search of her purse revealed a usable quantity of marijuana, according to a police report.

    The student also had an outstanding warrant from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    She was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and held on the warrant charges, according to a report.

  • A 24-year-old Georgia woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of forgery and possession of fraudulent financial information, police reported.

    The woman was arrested at Burlington Coat Factory at 5000 S. Arizona Mills Circle after she attempted to purchase items using fake traveler’s checks, according to a police report.

    Investigation revealed the woman used approximately $180 in counterfeit checks to purchase items from Ross, Charlotte Russe and Kids Super Center at Arizona Mills Mall, police reported.

    The woman had two additional fake American Express traveler’s checks that she admitted she was intending to use, according to a report.

    The woman is suspected of four counts of forgery and two counts of possessing fraudulent information. She was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge.

  • A 21-year-old Phoenix man was arrested at Crocs at 5000 S. Arizona Mills Circle on Thursday on suspicion of theft after he was caught selling store merchandise for cash inside the store, police reported.

    The store is missing about $3,500 worth of merchandise. The man admitted to embezzling more than $2,000 in merchandise and then selling it to customers, according to a police report.

    Police also believe the man was regularly selling merchandise to customers paying in cash and pocketing the money, police reported.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge on charges of embezzlement, according to a report.
