ASU police reported the following incident Tuesday:
- An 18-year-old male ASU student was arrested at the 500 block of East University Drive on suspicion of aiming a laser pointer at an officer late Friday night, police reported.
The student was cited and released on the scene, according to a police report.
Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
- A 33-year-old Tempe man was arrested late Monday night on suspicion of aggravated assault, according to a police report.
The man was having an argument with his former girlfriend in front of his residence on the 1400 block of East Brentrup Drive when he grabbed her arm, threw her to the ground and held a knife to her throat, according to the report.
The man was booked into Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.
- A 29-year-old Scottsdale man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of shoplifting and one count of robbery on Friday morning, police reported.
The man was a suspect in several East Valley robberies throughout March, in which he had stolen video-game consoles, according to a police report.
In one of the incidents, the man leaped over a counter and got into a physical altercation with a clerk before running off with a game console, according to the report.
The man was confronted on the phone by officers and discussed turning himself in, but he was arrested on an unrelated shoplifting charge from the previous month on the 100 block of East Fifth Street in Tempe, police reported.
The man was booked into Tempe City Jail and released to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, police reported.
- A 29-year-old Mesa man was arrested on suspicion of means of theft of transportation Sunday morning in an alley just south of the intersection of East Broadmor and South Ventura drives, police reported.
The man was driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier that morning, according to a police report.
Officers confirmed via records that the man was a suspect in the theft and placed him under arrest, police reported.
The man was booked into Tempe City Jail and released to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, according to the report.
