Tempe police reported the following incidents Sunday:

  • An 18-year-old male ASU student and an 18-year-old California man were arrested in Tempe at 10:30 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of marijuana possession, according to a police report.

    A police officer found the two men smoking in a parked car near the 1000 block of South Rural Road, police reported.

    The ASU student admitted to buying the marijuana from an unknown source at an ASU dorm, according to the report.

    Both men were taken to Tempe City Jail and released, police reported.

  • A 29-year-old Tempe man and a 21-year-old Tempe man were arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession Thursday, according to a police report.

    After stopping their vehicle near Los Feliz and Del Rio drives at 7 p.m., a police officer found marijuana in the vehicle, police reported.

    The two men denied ownership of the marijuana, according to the report.

    Both men were booked into Tempe City Jail and released, police reported.

  • A 33-year-old Mesa man was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine near the 1200 block of South Scottsdale Road, police reported.

    He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia when police found cooking spoons, several small bags and an electric scale, according to the report.

    A records check on the man revealed he was a convicted felon. He was booked and held in Tempe City Jail, police reported.

  • A 24-year-old Phoenix woman was arrested at about 4 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of shoplifting at the Arizona Mills Mall, according to a police report.

    She was arrested at the JCPenney department store, and a records check revealed that the woman had an outstanding warrant from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, according to the report.

    She was booked and held in the Tempe City Jail, police reported.

  • A 20-year old Tempe man was arrested at 7 a.m. Thursday at his residence on the 7100 block of South Parkside Drive on suspicion of assault, a police report said.

    An investigation revealed that the man sexually assaulted a woman earlier in the morning, grabbed a cell phone from her purse and fled to his home where he was later identified and arrested, according to the report.

    He was taken to Tempe City Jail and held, police reported.
