Police beat

Tempe police reported the following incidents Sunday:

  • A 36-year-old Phoenix woman was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of identity theft, credit card theft and possession of a dangerous drug, police reported.

Between May 25 and July 15, the woman used another person’s credit card to purchase items over the Internet, according to police reports.

The woman had the items sent to her address on the 4000 block of East Hartford Avenue in Phoenix, police reported.

Police carried out a search warrant of that address on Aug. 7 and found methamphetamine, according to police.

During the execution of the warrant, the woman was not found and remained a person of interest in connection to the thefts, according to police.

The woman was arrested Wednesday when she was located in front of a building on the 100 block of East Fifth Street in Tempe, police reported.

The woman was booked into Tempe City Jail on suspicion of all charges, police reported.

  • A 47-year-old Tempe man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and child abuse, according to police reports.

Police stopped the man as he was driving east on Apache Boulevard, police reported.

The stop revealed a warrant for the man’s arrest for suspicion of child abuse stemming from an incident earlier this month, police reported.

On Oct. 20 the man slapped his daughter in the face and repeatedly hit her in the back and arms with a belt, according to police reports.

The man was booked in to Tempe City Jail and held on suspicion of both charges.

  • A 21-year-old Tempe man was arrested Friday night on suspicion of possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and selling marijuana, according to police reports.

During a search warrant of a house located on the 1200 block of East Loma Vista Drive in Tempe, police found the man, who did not own the house, to be in possession of both drugs and paraphernalia, police reported.

The man is known to have sold marijuana on two separate occasions police were aware of before the execution of the warrant, police reported.

The man was arrested and booked into Tempe City Jail on suspicion of all charges, according to police reports.
