ASU police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

  • Between 12 and 10:15 a.m. Oct. 6 an unknown suspect or suspects committed criminal damage to an 18-year-old male ASU student’s vehicle, police reported.

    The vehicle was parked in Lot 35 outside Ocotillo Hall on the Tempe campus, according to the police report.

    The vehicle was scratched and dented across the front panels, according to the police report.

    The estimated damage is $500, police reported.

    There are no leads, suspects or witnesses at this time, according to the police report.

  • Between 11 p.m. Oct. 4 and 11 a.m. Oct. 5 an unknown suspect or suspects committed damage to a 24-year-old ASU student’s vehicle, police reported.

    The vehicle had dents on the driver’s side rear panels, according to the police report.

    The damage appeared to be from punching the vehicle, police reported.

    The estimated damage is $300, according to the police report.

    There are no leads, witnesses or suspects at this time, police reported.

Tempe police reported the following incident Tuesday:

  • A 23-year-old Goodyear man was arrested Friday on suspicion of possessing a usable quantity of marijuana and two counts of misconduct involving weapons, police reported.

    The suspect was apprehended at East 6th Street and South Rural Road, according to the police report.

    Investigation revealed that the man provided a loaded 9 mm handgun to his friend and told him to fire the gun into the air, police reported.

    The man was driving a vehicle during the incident. Police stopped the vehicle, and a search revealed that the suspect was in possession of a usable quantity of marijuana, police reported.

    Further investigation revealed the subject was also driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the police report.

    The suspect was cited and released on the DUI charge and booked into the Tempe City Jail on the other charges, police reported.

    A records check revealed the suspect also had two outstanding Goodyear warrants and was driving on a suspended license, according to the police report.
