Why are you running for office/re-election?
I am running because I want to insure that my three children have every opportunity to achieve whatever they want to from their lives, as long as they’re willing to work hard at it. I also believe that it is becoming an all too common strategy for politicians to saddle the next generation with its debt instead of dealing with the financial ramifications now.
What experience qualifies you for the position?
Humility. I believe any hard-working Arizonan with a good heart and sound judgment has the right to represent his or her peers in an elected office. You need to be able to listen to the people of your community, in order to truly represent them.
What do you think is the most important issue of the election?
The economy. If elected, what would you want your relationship with ASU to be? One of mutual respect, understanding and trust. The West campus is located within District 10, and its success is vital to success of the community that surrounds it.
Why should ASU students want to elect you?
I believe that higher education is paramount for a health society, good paying jobs and a strong workforce. No one should be priced out of a good education.
What is the No. 1 change you want to see in your district?
A lot less home foreclosure signs in our neighborhoods.
What would your contributions to the community be?
I am someone who leads by example and brings people together. I believe that building strong communities will build a strong state. The most important contribution I could make is to be straightforward about the current issues facing our state and honest about what obstacles we face in the future.
