With the NBA tipping off Tuesday, the Seattle Supersonics will not be playing this season. But the Oklahoma City Thunder will.

I don’t know if I support the move, but I guess owners can do whatever they want with their franchises.

I do support the name-change.

I would never choose to call my team the “Thunder,” but it’s better than the other options: Wind, Barons, Marshalls, Energy and Bison.

What I absolutely do not support, however, is the team logo.

For those of you that haven’t seen it, the logo consists of a basketball with the letters OKC over it and two lines behind it. The word “Thunder” is sprawled across the top in a font that’s little more interesting than Times New Roman.

Seriously?

The geniuses designing NBA logos couldn’t up with something more interesting than that?

I’m not sure how to draw thunder, but I’m sure I could’ve made a better logo than that.

Clouds, lightning, they could’ve even brought that Sasquatch mascot from Seattle and named him Thunder. I don’t care.

Please, just make a new logo … soon.
