After two rounds of the World Amateur Team Championships in Adelaide, Australia, three Sun Devils sit among the top five on the leaderboard.
Anna Nordqvist is part of the reason Sweden leads the tournament by eight shots. The Sun Devil junior finished Thursday right where she started, in second place.
Freshman Carlota Ciganda helped Spain stay in second place, shooting up the leaderboard in the round. She went from 31st to 3rd place after a 7-under-par second-round. She had eight birdies en route to posting the second-lowest second round individual score in championship history.
Senior Azahara Munoz, also from Spain, finished two spots behind Ciganda after she shot a 1 under par in the second round to give her a two-day score of 2 under par.
ASU’s junior Juliana Murcia and freshman Giulia Molinaro also competed.
Murcia sits tied for 53rd place for Colombia with a score of 9 over par and Molinaro of Italy finished one shot behind her in 64th place overall.
The tournament wraps up Saturday.
